Hej, I'm Twarda
I'm a freelancing artist and game developer with a MSc in biology based in Poland.

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. Comic books, particularly classic European ones, and animation are among my earliest sources of inspiration. Biology and paleontology are another passion of mine.I continued building up my art skills, eventually expanding from traditional art to digital art.

Zniw Adventure is a Point & Click adventure game in which the player follows the misadventures of the main dinosaur heroine - Zniw. The game's strong points are the story-telling and the living, breathing world within which the player can be immersed. Lots of animations make the adventure fun to experience.

The game was co-created with my partner & programmer, Łukasz Mikołajczyk, who wrote a lot of custom code for it and helped with writing. I was responsible for the visual side of the project, UI, game and world design, script & writing, flow, animation, and various pixel art assets, as well as for scientific accuracy. The game is available on these platforms:

Cover art

The cover art was designed with various formats in mind: from Steam's requirements to square-ish jewel boxes and extremely long Switch game boxes. The illustration has various references to Zniw's adventure in it, which become apparent as the player progresses through the game.

Dinopedia

The optional dinopedia fills up during the player's adventures. Fitting all the info into the game's small resolution proved to be challenging. Its major functions are to familiarize the player with the encountered creatures and scientific terms, as well as provide some extra word building detail and lore.

Zid Journey is a Point & Click adventure game where the story further explores the dinosaur world set in the first game, Zniw Adventure. The player follows Zid who tries to find the parents of the lost Daspletosaurus hatchling. On this journey, Zid also hopes to find his origins...

Many issues we encountered in the first game were alleviated with a bigger team and Kickstarter funds. But this also meant that my partner's and my responsibilities expanded to project and team management. This time the full-screen cutscenes were handled by GS Animation Studio, allowing us to focus more on the development. I provided art references and storyboards and acted as a creative lead to aid the animation process. My other roles from the previous game stayed similar. The demo can be played here:
